Niku no Oyama

It’s great for the price, I like coming here after work for drinks and a few croquettes. The lemon pasta is actually really nice, especially if you want a break from heavy food. I believe there is a 1.5 hour time limit, which is nice because you don’t have to wait too long if the restaurant is completely full.

Be prepared to read some Japanese menu as you can't Google translate the fonts. Owner speaks a tiny bit of English so he could tell you if it's beef, pork, mixed, or just potatoes. Reasonably priced.

Long lines for both eat-in and take out. Going a few minutes before peak hours is very advisable. The wagyu steak is unbeatable.

Juicy and crispy beef ball

we visited twice within a week but had different experience. 1st time late night we ordered normal menchi and it was fantastic, crispy, soft n hot inside, ee regretted not having a chance to try out the wagyu beef menchi and decided to revisit after a few days. Today we came earlier at 11am and waited in line. The koroke criso is obviously burnt but the beef inside is still delicious, wish they could have controlled it better.

Great place to grab a drink, stand and people watch. There's usually a line.

Huge Menchi Katsu, super value for the price, taste great too. You can put the sauce and mustard as per your liking. Beer at decent price, very popular among local and tourist. We actually came back Ameyoko for this.

A livery and popular downtown izakaya powered by the owner meat shop, not so cheap but fresh big dishes are really good.

Reasonable price and good

Great wagyu beef croquet at an affordable price 400 yen. Outside is crisp and inside is juicy and flavorful. Really can taste the beef and with the additional sauces, the flavor is greatly enhanced. Recommended the barbecue sauce plus mustard sauce, totally satisfying and delicious mouthful in every bite. The stall is quite small so it's a standup eating bar. Really a great street food experience!

Very cheap price

Worth the money you pay. If you are a economic gourmet lover, you will like here. We went here after taking off shinkansen as a last course of our trip. It's very close to the Ueno station so it was easy to visit without taking much energy.

Really decent kobe beef. The price is so reasonable and the quality is great. I don't think any other placecan beat this place around Ueno. If you are around here, this is a must visit place. Also have English service , no need to worry can't understand the menu. The steak dinner combo with rice, if you are really hungry.

Love their draught beer and fried delicacies. Very affordable as well! A must-eat in Ueno!

Friendly & Yummy

We had these as a part of a food tour. They were really good, I wouldn't have thought to eat them otherwise but they were fine plain or even with the mustard. If you're near by grab one but they are super hot so be careful

Wagyu Menchi Katsu was mostly hype. Spend half the price and get a regular pork/beef menchi katsu.

Minch and evi cutlet were the best! Drinks on the other hand had too much ice in it.

Menchi katsu is amazing first time in Tokyo and first time trying something like that and this place was nothing short of amazing.

Heaven for the big appetite. Given its location, the price for their mixed meat platter set was exceptionally worthwhile with a generous serving of the meats with soup & rice and including free flow of hot and cold drinks, food was decent as well.

Good selection of deep fried stuff and beef menus. The Menchi was nice. Tried it with the sauce, chilli and mustard.Also the hamburger and cured beef salad were delicious. One star deducted from that they allow smoking in the restaurant which is normal in Japan.

Very good and cheap fried crocche'. Note that there is not seat. Great option if you want to by some and cheap fastfood
